Octoze Technologies Adopts Benchmark Standards in Information Security Management

Chennai, November 25, 2020 – Octoze Technologies Pvt Ltd is proud to announce the implementation of its Information Security Management System in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for the scope of Software Design, Development, Testing, Maintenance and Support Functions. The standard was published jointly by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in 2005, and further revised in 2013. The certification covers the company’s core software and flagship EdTech product, Camu, a leading software company and integrated campus management solution, post a stringent audit and thorough concurrence of requirements by the Registered Certification Body (RCB).

“We are committed to upholding the highest degree of information security through the tenets of confidentiality, integrity, availability and privacy of information to all our stakeholders. We achieve this by adopting a formal Risk Management Framework and establishing an Information Security Management System (ISMS) that is improved on a continual basis through periodic awareness and training programs”, says Venkatesh Rao, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, Octoze Technologies Pvt Ltd.

ISO 27001 carefully safeguards all categories of information, pictorial and encrypted, including data stored on computers, transmitted across networks, printed out, written on paper, saved on disks, sent by fax, held on backup tapes, or spoken in conversation over the telephone. A variety of sound management controls, along with skillful security measures, can be addressed effectively and efficiently through this superior Information Security Management System.

“Our endeavour is to keep information safe, secure, and error-free, by identifying any vulnerabilities within the cloud system, and then developing expert counter measures to mitigate each”, Rao reiterates.

According to Octoze Technologies, the following particulars pose a significant risk to information systems: increased user knowledge of IT systems, version control problems, unrestricted access, system/network failure, lack of documentation, theft, sabotage, misuse, hacking, viruses, natural calamities and fire. ISO 27001 is poised to tackle these very hindrances by positioning information as an important business asset, providing a systems approach to information security management, enabling clarity in the definition of information security-related authorities and responsibilities, aiding in reducing information security breaches and resulting losses, creating better compliance with information security laws, and enhancing corporate image and market standing.

Given that Octoze Technologies’ EdTech platform, Camu, is instrumental in transforming the educational landscape of 400+ institutions worldwide, it is imperative that the firm’s human and technical resources are mobilized towards achieving 100% information security. For the successful implementation of ISO 27001, all stakeholders will be required to cooperate by providing relevant information when needed, filling checklists where required, completing documents in a timely fashion, using and following due document processes and procedures, and making quality the primary objective in every effort. In addition to this, all people and processes must be competent enough to detect, react, and protect in accordance to any security breach. A detailed awareness report has been released, which will be followed by a comprehensive internal meeting with the team, to discuss the same.
